The elevation of Rancho Silencio is lower than San Ramon and sits at around 2800 feet. This is good because San Ramon can get cold at night, and here it is enough lower and in just the right spot for warmer temperatures at night but still not too hot during the day. Perfect for a swimming pool for the day and jacuzzi at night!

Much of the road from the main highway is paved and the rest is maintained with gravel and is passable all year long. It is advisable to use a 4 wheel drive vehicle in the rainy season in most back country areas of Costa RIca and this is no exception; although in the dry season and much of the rainy season, it is reachable without a 4 wheel drive. There are 2 ways to get to this particular Costa Rican property - one is the "back way" which is a little over 11 miles, and the other is the "short way" which is less than 6 miles from San Ramon (only 4 miles off the main highway). So, you will be 15-20 minutes from San Ramon which is a large town or a small city. It is likely the entire road will be paved in both directiions to San Ramon within a couple of years as more and more people are buying and building out in this peaceful area. But don't worry it's a long way from being "crowded" and likely never will be!

Rancho Silencio is only 1km or about half a mile away from the quaint pueblo of San Francisco which has a school, church, grocery stores or "pulperias" and a soccer field. About another 2 miles lies the larger, very traditional "Old Costa Rica" town of Piedades Sur.

We are located about 2 hours from Arenal Volcano with its beautiful views, lake and hot springs, and we are less than an hour to the Capitol city of San Jose'.

Lot 1 is closest to the public road though it does not front the public road and has privacy from the public road due to a small hill.

Lot 1 has a fairly large fruit orchard of mangoes, bananas, lemons, avocados, papaya and other fruits. They are not fully mature yet but will be in a couple of years. This orchard will belong to the owner of Lot 1. However, if you wish to defray the cost and hassle of keeping it up I would agree to share this cost with you in exchange for half the fruit. This is entirely up to you.
